Ms. Kat moved to Japan in July 2020 and started teaching at the Lab in September that same year. In 2011, she graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman with a bachelor's degree in English Language Studies and has been working in education and training since then. Between 2014 and 2018, Ms. Kat also worked as a freelance artist and designer, teaching calligraphy and watercolor workshops to adults and children and designing wedding stationery.

When she's not teaching at the Lab, Ms. Kat likes to read, write in her journal, draw, knit, or add to her ever-growing list of hobbies.She lives in Kobe with her husband and their dog, Cake.

Teacher Lottie grew up in the California countryside, camping every summer and teaching archery to young learners. They studied Cognitive Science and Spanish at Wellesley College, and love to spend their free time writing poetry, doing crafts, and going to see live music.

Ms. Ava is a passionate educator and lifelong learner from the Rocky Mountains of Montana, USA. Before moving to Kobe, she spent three years in Germany earning a master’s in Musical Acoustics, where she explored the intersection of physics, computer science, and art.

Ms. Ava has also worked previously as a Radio Producer for American Public Media Group, Guitar Instructor for the non-profit organization Power Changes Lives, and Teaching Assistant for undergraduate level music courses at Carleton College. She aims to both inspire and be inspired by her students.
