About After-school Clubs

After-school Clubs are an excellent opportunity for children to enrich their classroom education and expand their friend groups. LLKobe's After-school Clubs are endlessly engaging and community-centered!

Coding Club

Coding is one the must-have skills of the 21st century. Coding languages, like HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python and Ruby, allow us to write codes that create websites, animations, mobile apps, games and more computer-based programs. Children who learn coding exercise mathematics, logic, problem-solving and creativity. In Coding Clubs, children develop these skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Book CODING CLUB

Beginner

Together, we will complete physical and digital coding projects, as well as learning the basics of electricity, computers and more! Children will begin their first steps into the exciting world of coding through guided, block-based coding languages.

Advanced

We will learn how to create animations, mobile apps and online games on a variety of platforms. Children will develop and finalize apps that they can use with personal Android devices. Primary text-based coding languages will include Python and Javascript.

STEAM Club

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math

STEAM, which stands for "Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics", was a program started in the United States to prepare 21st century learners for the modern world. LLKobe's STEAM Club provides children with hands-on, innovative projects that build STEAM skills, including problem-solving, creative thinking and collaboration.
BOOK STEAM CLUB

Ages 3-6

Children discover science through a variety of guided science experiments. We cover topics like living things, matter and materials, light and sound, motion and energy.  This club will help children build curiosity about the world around them. We will also connect our activities to larger concepts like space, Earth's history and current science developments.

Ages 7-11

Children will work collaboratively to explore scientific principles and concepts in preparation for middle school. We will cover biology, chemistry, physics and general science topics enhanced by hands-on experiments.

Robotics Club

Thinking like an engineer can help children build a strong, foundation for better learning. Using design thinking helps kids develop the attitudes and thinking processes necessary to be confident, adaptable learners inside and outside of the classroom. In Robotics club, we will use kits and base components to create guided and open-ended designs.
Book Robotics Club

Ages 5-8

Children will practice design thinking by building toys, tools, machines and robots. We will learn how to use simple hand tools and materials to create a variety of simple and complex machines. We will also learn basic coding using MBots.

Ages 9-13

Using 10-in-1 robots, children will explore programming with different types of robots. Clubs will consist of sets of design and performance challenges using open-ended kits.

Writer's Workshop

LLK's Writer's Workshop is an open-ended, ongoing workshop that teaches the principles of good writing. During the workshop, we will cover the skills and strategies that make writing papers, stories and reports a breeze!

Each 90 minute session involves a 30 minute mini-lesson and 60 minutes of open-ended activity time. Children can bring in their school assignments or received personalized writing instruction during the open-ended activity time. Please contact Ms. Lee to discuss options at lee@llkobe.com.
