Designed for children with an advanced or native understanding of English, this intensive workshop targets skills critical for success in international learning environments. Children learn how to navigate inquiry-based learning and develop their problem-solving and reflection skills through writing workshops and STEM challenges. Class size is limited to maximize personalized learning. This year, there will be two learning groups differentiated by age skill level, and a total attendance of 10 children per week. Weeks that have an enrollment of fewer than 5 children will, unfortunately, have to be cancelled. LLKobe's Writing & STEM Intensive welcomes children ages 6-12. Children must be at least 6 years old by June 22, 2020. |

FAQs
What will my child be learning each week?
Each week, we will have a new topic for writing workshops. Details regarding specific topics will be sent out mid-June, but we usually rotate fiction and non-fiction units. Children will not be required to purchase additional writing supplies or book materials for the classes.
Afternoons will consist of different stations offering a variety of science, engineering and design challenges followed by a Makers Space period. During Makers Space, the children will apply their skills to open-ended projects of their own design. The day will end either with extended Makers Space or a movie, depending on the children's vote as a group.
There are no field trips during STEM & Writing Intensive, but we may walk to the local river to test science experiments. For the 2020 year, outings will determined based on safety recommendations from Kobe city and Ms. Lee's judgement.
