What is a Flash Fiction Workshop?

Flash fiction is a genre that includes stories as short as 6 words up to about a 1,000 words. In this 1-day workshop, published author and Columbia University MFA graduate E.B. Bartels and Ms. Lee will lead aspiring authors through the process of starting and editing their own work of flash fiction. From 11:00 am-1:00 pm, we will discuss and practice strategies for writing effectively.

From 1:00-2:00 pm, please join Ms. E.B. and Ms. Lee for snacks and a Q&A where the participants can ask her about her life as a writer, her experiences in higher education, her menagerie of pets or anything else that comes up over the course of the day. This workshop and the Q&A will be in English.

To meet the author:
From 1:00 pm, we will have snacks and casual conversation with E.B. Bartels where kids and adults can ask her questions. She will also be available to sign copies of her book, Good Grief: On Loving Pets Here and Hereafter.

There is no cost for people attending just the Q&A session (but please register with the sign-up form).  Limited copies of the author's book will be available for purchase for ¥3,600.
